We have 2 methodologies. The first is a sensor study where PIR sensors are placed under each desk and within meeting rooms to precisely monitor the frequency of space use. This is the most robust method of tracking information but depending on cost and scale we can also use a manual method to record the data.
The data recorded shows average and peak space utilisation and can be split out by team or department. Most businesses have an average space utilisation of close to 50% with some as low as 20%. That’s a lot of wasted space and rent.
